James H. Featherstone death in Colorado Mine

I am trying to expand on some information on James H. FEATHERSTONE who is listed on the Colorado census in 1900. A picture I have of James and his wife, my GreatGrandmother, Ida Mae WALKER, states on the back that James was killed in a mine explosion at Cripple Creek mine in Colorado.

My Grandmother, Ruby Sabina FEATHERSTONE was born in 1903 after the census was done. Her brothers Sydney and George are listed on the census. The residence is at Goldtown, Teller, Colorado and James is listed as a Timberman. His wife Ida was remarried in 1914 and settled in Alberta on a Land Grant in 1914 under the name Ida Mustard. Husband George Mustard died within a year of the marriage.

The name on the photo has him called Henry Elgin FEATHERSTONE and the name on the census is James H. FEATHERSTON(E) but the details of the children and wife combined with the death information confirm the same charachter. I believe the name is James Henry Elgin FEATHERSTONE.

Cripple Creek and Teller Colorado was a large mining boom area around the turn of the century with many men coming to the area to work and live. Along with the boom were many deaths and accidents and it would be interesting to discover how and when James was killed.
